Winter

Yes, since I came here it doesn't stop snowing. It's really beautiful up here. And the snow makes it a lot easier to get up in the morning and to go to school. Luckily, there is daylight now from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. That means a lot of time to spend a saturday or sunday outside. Last weekend I went cross-country skiing for the first time. Two Germans (Tino and Anne) took me along to the Estenstadmarka, a quite hilly terrain. Although it seemed to be a bit scary in the beginning to drive downhill when your shoes are not fixed at the heels, it was so much fun. 3 hours passed as if it was nothing.

Dinner parties

I think it kind of depends on the people you spend time with what you do in your spare time. While I spent most of the early evenings in the sports center with my acquaintances last year, I meet most of the people for dinner parties this year. (Although Norwegians would say it's "middag".) We already had a typical German (chicken "Geschnetzeltes" with potatoes and brokkoli), Ghanaese (peanut soup with fufu), Norwegian (roast pork with potatoes and different vegetables) and Polish (pierogi with mushroom sauce) food. Pretty impressive for 4 days in Trondheim, I guess. It will be interesting to see what else will be served in Moholt's kitchens.

Arrived...

...again.
Although it's the second time for me to arrive in Trondheim to spend some time abraod, it feels different. It was a real goodbye from Germany and especially Aachen 'cause studies will be over after the master thesis. And you never know where you'll find a job. The journey was much longer than last time as I took the train from Oslo and the luggage was much heavier. Then I had to change rooms already after half an hour because the neighbors and the appartment were really unpleasant. But luckily SiT found me a nicer appartment in Moholt. Now I share it with a guy from Ghana (Kwaku), a woman from France (Morgane) and a woman from Norway(Mari Lilja). I think it will be a great time. Everyone is open-minded, likes to share things, cook and stuff. After having unpacked and decorated my room, I was really exhausted from the day. So I ended up going to bed early and to sleep for 13 hours (!).
My new appartment (common room+bedroom)
But it was necessary. Now I'm ready to enjoy the snow (I kind of brought it with me ;-)), to see people I met last year and to party at the long basement night at Moholt.
